Due to his suspected involvement in a major cyberattack against HDFC Life Insurance, police have detained a 27-year-old interior designer from Ambala, Haryana.
The suspect is charged with planning to extort the business and steal confidential client information with a mastermind stationed in Hong Kong.
Specifics of the Breach According to HDFC Life Insurance, a cyberattack that compromised subscribers’ private information took place between November 19 and Nove 21 of this year.
Various information like customers Policy numbers, addresses, contact information, names and vital health data were among the sensitive data that cyber fraudesters unlawfully obtained by taking advantage of an email account and a WhatsApp account connection.
On Nov 19, HDFC Life was contacted by the attackers who threatened to reveal the stolen data unless their demands for ransom were fulfilled.
After that police ragister case & further investigation started to find how that data was leaked from sequred server of bank.
