Gold Price Today -Sunday, 22 December 2024
Gold and silver futures fell, with gold at a one-month low and silver at a three-month low, owing to hawkish Fed language, a strong dollar, and improved US economic data.
Gold prices remain poor, falling by Rs 2,260/10 grams in the last week, while silver prices decreased by Rs 5,600/kg in the same period.
On Thursday, gold and silver prices fell in both domestic and international markets.
The gold February futures contract finished at Rs 75,651 per 10 grams, down 1.31%, while the silver March futures contract settled at Rs 87,187 per kilogram, down 3.53%.
Amid robust advances in the dollar index and hawkish FED forecasts for rate reduction in 2025 and 2026, gold and silver continued to decline.
Alongside a drop in US jobless claims and better-than-expected US GDP statistics, gold and silver also fell sharply.
