In FY24, Reliance let go of 42,000 workers
Based on its most recent annual report, Reliance Industries lay off almost 42,000 workers in FY24 compared to the same period last year. RIL had 347,362 employees in FY24 as opposed to 389,414 in FY23; in the same period, there were 171,116 fewer new hires, a decrease of more than a third. Of the 42,052 fewer workers, Reliance Retail alone was responsible for 38,029 people.
