How US-focused mutual funds dominated the return rankings.

Over the past year, Indian mutual funds with investments in US markets have yielded an average return of 33 percent. However, don’t let previous results fool you. Below is a summary of these funds’ subcategories. Over the last 15 to 18 months, US-focused funds have performed admirably.

For example, over the past year, returns on the Mirae Asset S&P 500 Top 50 ETF, Bandhan US Equity fund-on-fund (FoF), and NYSE FANG+ ETF have been 61 percent, 43 percent, and 41 percent, respectively. In the meantime, the Nifty 50 total return index gave 27% of its returns over that time. Twenty of the 73 foreign funds make their primary investment in US stocks. Seven of these follow the Nasdaq 100 index’s performance.
